Trevellya Ford-Ahmed, the communications and media director for the Mount Zion Baptist Preservation Society, at the previously named Mount Zion Baptist Church off N Congress St, near uptown Athens, Ohio on Saturday, Oct. 2, 2021. For many years the church has been in disrepair, but the Mt. Zion Preservation Society plans to turn the sacred building back into a cultural hub for students of color looking for a safe space off the Ohio University campus to be around like minded people. Ford-Ahmed personally looks forward to the smell of traditional southern-style soul food like barbecue and corn bread cooking in a neighboring kitchen. The kitchen is also part of the plan, but may not happen right away she said.

A house fire on W Mitchel Ave in Cincinnati, OH causes road closures from Vine St. to I-75 starting at about 8:30 p.m. and lasting until 12 a.m. on the night of Thursday, Feb. 11, 2021. A pedestrian who says he was the first one on the scene saw smoke rising from the building and began to walk over and check out what was happening. He says that when he arrived, he witnessed a ball of fire blow out the window closest to the street.
